Tips:

Qualifying for the 2018 World Cup will involve 210 national teams in order to designate 31 of the 32 teams that will compete in the finals.The 31 seats will be allocated to the 6 FIFA Confederations. Here are the number of teams registered and qualified by confederation:

    
AFC (Asia) - 46 teams - 4 or 5 qualified
    
CAF (Africa) - 54 teams - 5 qualifiers
    
CONCACAF (North America, Central America and the Caribbean) - 35 teams - 3 or 4 qualified
    
CONMEBOL (South America) - 10 teams - 4 or 5 qualifiers
    
OFC (Oceania) - 11 teams - 0 or 1 qualified
    
UEFA (Europe) - 54 teams (excluding Russia) - 13 qualifiers (in addition to Russia)




Europe area 

The 54 countries are divided into nine groups of six teams that meet in round-trip matches. The first of each group are qualified for the 2018 World Cup. The top eight must move to the qualifying matches while the others are eliminated.At the play-offs, the top eight runners-up in the first round are o

pposed in four sets of knock-out matches in pairs of round-robin matches, with the four winners qualifying for the 2018 World Cup

 The teams were divided according to the FIFA Ranking. A team for each hat was allocated to each group.The 20 winners of the second round enter the third round.The 20 teams are divided into five groups of four teams, played in a round-trip formula. The draw was held on 24 June 2016 in Cairo.In bold the teams that played the 2014 World Cup. The hats are the following in Africa


 Asia zone 

In the first round, the twelve countries with the lowest ranking in the FIFA ranking in December 2014 face each other in a knockout round-robin match. The six winners enter the second round.In the second round, the six winners of the first round are joined by the other 34 countries. These forty countries are divided into eight groups of five teams each. They will compete in the championship on round-trip matches. The top eight and top four qualify for the third round.In the third round, the remaining twelve teams are separated into two groups of six teams. They compete in the championship on round-trip matches, as for the previous round. The first and second are qualified for the World Cup and the third will participate in the fourth round.In the fourth round, two thirds of the third round will play a one-leg and a return leg, the winner of both matches will compete in the intercontinental barricades: two games (round-trip) against a CONCACAF team.
